Terms and Conditions

  1. Entries (“Artwork”) are limited to the maximum number stated above for each location. A member may submit artwork to either or both locations for the same show. Artworks may not have been exhibited in a previous AGV member show. Artwork must remain on exhibit throughout the run of the exhibit, except with consent of an AGV Board member. Removal of an Artwork prior to closing date may result in Artist being barred from future exhibitions.

  2. Artwork must be an original creation by the member artist (“Artist” or “You”) identified below. Artwork must be properly framed or gallery-wrapped with finished edges and no exposed staples. The artwork must wired and ready for hanging with the center of the hanging wire at least 1 1/2 inches below the top of the piece. Sawtooth hangers are not allowed. The artwork and frame must be dry. Maximum overall width shall not exceed 48’’. AGV reserves the right to reject any artwork not meeting these criteria.

  3. AGV does not own, lease or control its Wing space which is within a building that is open to the public. AGV leases the Gallery space which is locked when no AGV representative is present. Neither AGV nor the owner of these buildings, nor any other party, provides any form of security or insurance against damage, loss or theft of any of the exhibited artworks. You acknowledge that You assume all risk of damage, theft, or loss of any kind to the Artworks.

  4. You agree to hold Artists’ Guild of Valparaiso, its officers, directors, employees and agents, harmless from any claims of copyright infringement arising from AGV’s use of gallery images for purposes of marketing, press releases, and other uses consistent with its non-profit purposes.

  5. You agree to hold Artists’ Guild of Valparaiso, its officers, directors, employees and agents, the Building’s owner and tenants, and their officers, directors, employees and agents, harmless from any claims of damage, theft or loss of any kind to your artwork. This hold harmless shall not prevent Artist from pressing charges against any individual(s) accused of criminally causing any damage, theft or loss to the Artwork.

  6. Artist must be an AGV member in good standing. AGV reserves the right to decline to exhibit or to remove any Artwork from the exhibit if any membership dues or fees are unpaid.

  7. You agree to drop off and pick up Artwork during the times specified by AGV, and to pay the above Late Pick-up Fee for failure to pick up your artwork at the specified time. The AGV does not have storage space for Artworks not picked up on time.   8. Payment for Artwork sales during the exhibition will be made to AGV. A commission to AGV as specified above will be deducted from all sales. AGV will pay the balance due Artist within 30 days after the closing of the exhibit. Any questions regarding payment should be directed to the AGV treasurer.
